Congratulations

Now the fun bit starts, you have been dreaming of your big day since you were a little girl and now is the time to start planning, The wedding dress will be at the top of your list, but first we always advise that you book your venue first as this will be a huge influence on the style of dress you choose. Once you have chosen your venue the time has come to book your appointment and the search begins for "The Dress"

Booking an Appointment

All of our appointments are now Private, so you and your guests will have the whole store to yourselves and we don't charge for an appointment

Each appointment can vary, but we do allow an hour and a half, sometimes longer, depends if we have another bride booked in after you

Saturdays are very busy so we always advise that you book in advance,we do not charge a deposit for Saturday appointments, weekday appointments are more flexible so it is best to give us a call to arrange a time, but we do ask that once booked if you need to change or cancel we kindly ask that you give us a call or email us in advance if possible so we can offer the appointment to another bride.

At your appointment

Covid-19: Our consultants will show the Bride(Only) to select dresses from the rails

All other guests must remain seated while we show the bride around the store

When you arrive at The Suffolk Bridal Company you will be welcomed by one of our experienced bridal consultants, who will explain the layout of our store, the styles and process of the appointment. We will then leave you to browse our Designers and Dresses to see which dresses you like and would like to try on, our consultants will be on hand to answer any questions you may have or give any advice, they will also be able to give their own experience and knowledge and recommend dresses that they feel will suit you. We also advise that you wear plain colour underwear, a strapless bra is always a good choice and helps especially if you would like a strapless dress, or an open back style

Guests

We kindly ask that you limit your guests to 3-4, as we can take 2 appointments at a time, and we have a limited seating area,if you would like to bring more guests please give us a call and we can arrange an appointment solely for yourself

Sizes

At The Suffolk Bridal Company our sample dress sizes have been carefuly selected and range from a UK size 8 to 28 most dresses that we can order start from a UK size 2 to 30

Ordering your dress

When you are ready to place the order for your dress, we will take your Bust, Waist and Hip measurements and choose a size from that particular Designers size chart, no dress will be made to measure as every brides measurements vary slightly, so most of the time some kind of alterations will be needed. When placing the order, a deposit of 50% will be required or you can pay in full if you wish, and the balance is due when the dress has arrived instore, we always allow 4-6 months for the dress to arrive to us, sometimes this can be a little longer depending on the time of year. Once the dress has arrived we will give you a call to arrange a time for you to try it on. We can also offer storage of your dress instore at an additional cost.

Alterations

As mentioned most dresses will need to be altered in some way, we do recommend independant bridal seamstresses who are very close to our store and you will need to book an appointment with them, the alterations will be an additional cost which you pay to them separately. you will also need to allow the time for alterations to be made when first planning dress shopping.
